Managing your profile

How to update your personal details, notification preferences, and display settings in your SEN Evidence Vault account.

Your account profile holds your personal details, notification preferences, and display settings. Keeping this up to date ensures you receive the right notifications and that your account correctly represents you.

Updating personal details

From the navigation, select your profile icon and then Account Settings > Profile. Here you can update:

  • Name: your display name as it appears within the app
  • Email address: the email used for account notifications and login. Changing your email requires verification of the new address.
  • Phone number: optional, used only if you enable SMS notifications

Changes to your name and phone number take effect immediately. Email changes require you to verify the new address before the change is applied.

Notification preferences

From Account Settings > Notifications, you can control which notifications you receive and how:

  • Email notifications: updates about your EHCP case actions, advocate messages, upcoming deadlines, and platform announcements
  • In-app notifications: the notification bell in the navigation bar
  • Deadline reminders: configure how far in advance you want reminders for upcoming deadlines (7 days, 3 days, 1 day)

You can enable or disable each notification type independently. We recommend keeping EHCP deadline reminders enabled, missing statutory deadlines is one of the most common and consequential mistakes in SEND cases.

Display preferences

From Account Settings > Display, you can:

  • Switch between light and dark mode
  • Set your preferred date format (DD/MM/YYYY or MM/DD/YYYY)
  • Choose your timezone (if you are not in the UK, this affects how dates and times display)
