Section 03 · Document Analysis
Analysis limits
How many document analyses are included in each plan, what counts as one analysis, and how to make the most of your free allowance.
After reading this article you can
- Know how many analyses your plan includes
- Understand what counts as one analysis
- Decide which documents to prioritise for analysis on the free plan
document analyses are the only consumption-limited feature in SEN Evidence Vault beyond storage. Understanding how they are counted helps you get the most value from your allowance.
Analyses by plan
| Plan | Analyses included | |---|---| | Free | 3 | | Premium | Unlimited |
What counts as one analysis
Each time you trigger an analysis on a document, it uses one credit, regardless of the document's length. A 3-page OT report uses the same credit as a 60-page EHCP assessment.
Re-running an analysis on the same document uses another credit. If you upload a corrected version of a file and re-analyse it, that also uses a credit.
Editing analysis results (summaries, flags, extracts) does not use any credits.
Which documents to prioritise on the free plan
If you are on the free plan and have 3 analyses, prioritise:
- The most recent EHCP or draft EHCP: this will generate the most EHCP flags and give you the clearest picture of where the current plan is strong or weak
- The most recent professional assessment report: an OT, SALT, or educational psychologist report typically contains the most evidence-dense language for both EHCP flags and DLA extracts
- A key decision letter from the LA: analysis of an EHCP refusal or amendment rejection can surface important wording for a challenge
Checking your remaining analyses
Go to Settings > Account to see how many analyses you have used and how many remain. You can also see this from the Analyse button on any document, if you have none remaining, the button shows your current count.
Premium includes unlimited analyses, so you can analyse every document in your Vault without rationing. Most families with an active case have 10–40 documents that benefit from analysis.
What to do next
- 1
Upgrade to Premium if you need more analyses
Go to Settings > Billing to upgrade. Premium removes the analysis limit entirely.
- 2
Move on to the Timeline features
Now that you understand the Vault and document analysis tools, the Timeline section shows you how to build a chronological record of your child's case.
