Section 07 · Evidence Bundles
Exporting as PDF
How to generate a PDF export of your evidence bundle, including what is included, the available options, and how to use the exported file.
After reading this article you can
- Export an evidence bundle as a PDF
- Understand the export options and what each includes
- Know how to use the exported PDF effectively
Once your bundle is complete, you can export it as a single PDF. The export compiles all your documents, section dividers, annotations, and a contents page into a single file ready to share or print.
What the export includes
The exported PDF contains:
- Cover page: bundle name, child's name (first name only by default), date generated
- Contents page: a list of all sections and documents with page numbers
- Section divider pages: clearly labelled between each section
- Documents: each document in the order you have arranged them
- Annotations: displayed as callout boxes alongside the relevant document
The PDF is professionally formatted for presentation at a meeting or submission to a tribunal.
Export options
When you select Export, you can choose:
Include cover page: on by default. Turn off if you are adding a custom cover separately.
Include contents page: on by default. Essential for larger bundles.
Include annotations: on by default. Turn off if you want a clean document-only version (for example, if you are sending documents to the LA and do not want your annotations visible).
Page numbering: sequential numbers across the whole bundle (recommended) or per-document. Sequential numbering is required for formal tribunal bundles.
Date stamping: optionally stamp the generation date on each page footer.
After exporting
The exported PDF is saved to your device and also stored in your bundle record in the app. If you update the bundle (add or remove documents, change annotations), you can re-export at any time, previous exports are retained in the bundle history.
Tip
For a tribunal, check the exported bundle carefully before sending. Verify that all documents have been included, that the page numbering is correct, and that no sensitive information you did not intend to share is present. Your solicitor or advocate will typically want to review the bundle before it is submitted.
Exporting bundles as PDF requires a Premium subscription. On the free plan, you can build and organise bundles but cannot export them.
