After reading this article you can

  • Create a secure share link for a bundle
  • Set an expiry date and access permissions for the link
  • Revoke a share link when access is no longer needed

Sharing sensitive documents by email is insecure and difficult to control, once sent, you cannot easily revoke access or know whether the file has been forwarded. Secure share links let you share a bundle with a specific person via a link that you control, with a set expiry date and the ability to revoke access at any time.

Creating a share link

1

Open your bundle

From Evidence Bundles, select the bundle you want to share.

2

Select Share

Choose Share bundle. You will be prompted to configure the link.

3

Set the access options

  • Expiry date: set when the link expires. The maximum is 90 days. For one-off shares, 7–14 days is usually sufficient.
  • Access level: view only (the recipient can read the bundle but not download it), or download (the recipient can also download the PDF).
  • Recipient name: optional, but useful for tracking. Not enforced, anyone with the link can access it.
4

Copy the link

Copy the generated link and send it to the intended recipient, by text, email, or any other channel. The link takes them directly to a secure view of the bundle.

Managing active links

From the bundle's Share tab, you can see all active and expired links for that bundle. For each link, you can:

  • Revoke: immediately deactivate the link (useful if you sent it to the wrong person or no longer want access to continue)
  • Extend expiry: if the recipient needs more time
  • View access log: see when the link was accessed and from which device type

What recipients see

Recipients with a share link see a read-only view of the bundle in their browser, no SEN Evidence Vault account required. They see the documents, annotations, and structure exactly as you built it. They cannot make changes or access any other part of your Vault.

Tip

Use share links rather than email attachments when sharing with advocates or solicitors. A share link lets you control access and revoke it when the case is resolved. An email attachment is permanent once sent.

PremiumSecure share links

Secure share links require a Premium subscription. On the free plan, you can share bundles by exporting and sending the PDF manually.
