Deleting your account
What happens when you delete your SEN Evidence Vault account, how to export your data first, and how to proceed with deletion.
After reading this article you can
- Understand what account deletion means for your data
- Export your data before deleting
- Delete your account
Deleting your SEN Evidence Vault account permanently removes all your data from the platform. This cannot be undone. Before deleting, make sure you have exported any data you want to keep.
What deletion removes
When you delete your account, the following are permanently deleted:
- All uploaded documents
- All records (timeline, EHCP case, DLA Helper, interactions, case notes)
- document analysis outputs
- Advocate connections and message history
- Your account profile and billing information
Stripe will retain billing records as required for financial compliance, but your payment card details are deleted from their systems.
What to do before deleting
Export your data
Go to Account Settings > Data > Export my data and download a full export. Wait until you receive the download link before proceeding. This is the only way to preserve your documents and records after deletion.
Cancel your subscription
If you are on a paid plan, cancel your subscription from Account Settings > Billing first to avoid any further charges.
End any active advocate connections
If you have active advocate connections, end them before deleting. This ensures your advocates are notified and do not expect to be able to access your Vault.
Deleting the account
Go to Account Settings > Account > Delete account
This is found at the bottom of the account settings page.
Read the confirmation
The confirmation screen lists exactly what will be deleted and asks you to confirm by typing your email address.
Confirm deletion
Enter your email address and select Delete my account. The deletion process begins immediately. You will receive a confirmation email when it is complete (typically within 24 hours).
If you change your mind
Account deletion cannot be reversed. Once confirmed, your data will not be recoverable. If you are considering deletion because of a billing concern or feature dissatisfaction, contact support first, there may be options available.
Important
Do not delete your account while an active EHCP case or tribunal is in progress. Your Vault documents and timeline may be important evidence that you will need access to. Export everything first and ensure you have local copies of all your evidence.
